Take-Two, owner of Rockstar Games , has discussed the company's approach to remastering old titles and its efforts to differentiate itself from the competition in this area.
Speaking at the Morgan Stanley Technology, Media and Telecommunications Conference, Take-Two boss Strauss Zelnick was asked what he thinks of remasters potentially becoming a more important part of the company's strategy going forward.
Rockstar Games and the remasters
Mr. Zelnick replied:
I'm not sure there is a more important part of the strategy, he replied. Remastering has always been part of the strategy.
We've done it differently than the competition - we didn't just change the titles, we actually took the time to do the best job possible to make the title different for the new release, for the new technology that we're releasing it. So we improve the technology, update the images, and make performance improvements. And that's why I think our remastered titles usually do so well.
On the next next-gen console version of GTA V , Zelnick said he was confident that the Rockstar Games remastering would deliver a solid experience for gamers.
