It's been several months now since the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series X and S have been released. We are eagerly awaiting the announcement of the release date of GTA 5 on next-gen consoles.
The arrival of Grand Theft Auto 5 on the new PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X & S consoles is eagerly awaited. The game, released 8 years ago on PlayStation 3, will soon mark a 3rd generation of consoles.
Although the game seems immortal, we currently have no specific information on its release date on next-gen consoles.
The announcement of the portability of the game was a real eye-opener for gamers: many indeed were hoping for a clue about GTA 6 . However, we will have to be content with a few more years of good old GTA 5, still very popular to this day.
A date scheduled for GTA 5 on PS5 and Xbox Series?
On its official blog, Rockstar Games studio gave some information about the portability of its flagship game.
It is already known that this version will feature a range of improvements, visual upgrades and performance improvements to take full advantage of the latest technologies, making the game more beautiful and more responsive - it must be said that an aesthetic point of view, the game does indeed need a small update.
Rockstar announces that the game will benefit from better follow - up on the new consoles . Regular updates and additional content for Online mode are planned.
A passage from the press release particularly catches our attention:
''As recently revealed at Sony's PlayStation 5 digital event, the adventures of Michael, Franklin, and Trevor arrive on a new generation of consoles, including PlayStation 5, in the second half of 2021.''
Thus the studio suggests that GTA 5 will be available around the middle of 2021 - around the summer therefore. Rockstar Games should not be underestimated, this date is not announced by chance. We can therefore expect the information to be true, without delay or delay.
It is also said that " There will also be a new standalone version of GTA Online coming in the second half of 2021, which will be available for free exclusively to PlayStation 5 players during the first three months. "
The Online version of GTA will therefore soon be independent from the base version - as is now the case for Red Dead Redemption Online. We can therefore expect that the two versions of the game will not be released simultaneously, but with a little difference.
Note that Rockstar Games announces that the version of GTA Online will be completely free during the first 3 months following its arrival on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series.
