Returnal, the first major PS5 exclusive developed by Housemarque, was delayed from March to April . The roguelike game in which we manage the character Selene will wait another month since the developer studio needs more time to polish it better. Now, we have just learned that in the game's age rating, it will have several items of great weight and that certain players will like.
Returnal will be an adult game
The game's ESRB rating qualifies that it is adult, unsurprisingly . It contains descriptions of "futuristic" pistols, machine guns, and rocket launchers . It also indicates that the combat will be "frantic" and that there will be a lot of explosions and blood, as well as screams of pain, presumably from the main protagonist as he dies, but perhaps also from your alien enemies.
The developer has said that they want the game to be disturbing, based on the age rating description:
“This is a third-person shooter game in which players take on the role of an astronaut who revives the same day after a crash landing on an alien planet. As players traverse the alien landscape, they battle native creatures and mechanized sentinels. Players use futuristic pistols, machine guns, and rocket launchers against enemies. The combat is frantic, with realistic gunfire, explosions, and screams of pain. Some alien creatures spatter blood when shot and killed. In one sequence, bloodstains appear on an altar that players interact with. The word 'bastard' appears in the game. ''
The Returnal game will be available for sale at the end of April and from PlayStation they released the first trailer to show us what will await us in the hostile world: alien creatures, weapons, procedural world, artifacts and frantic shooting. What's new at Housemarque promises to be an intense adventure packed with action and exploration.
