Sandfall Interactive's title has lost its crown! With an average score of 93% on Metacritic, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 was the highest-rated game of 2025.
The RPG game now ranks third, with the Switch 2 versions of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and Breath of the Wild occupying first and second place respectively. One has an average of 95% and the other 93%.
Of course, this ranking is debatable given the fact that both games were actually released in 2023 and 2017. Additionally, Tears of the Kingdom on Switch 2 only has nine reviews and Breath of the Wild has eleven.
However, none of these remasters are likely to be eligible for the "Game of the Year" award. In that regard, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is not yet in trouble.
