DOOM: The Dark Ages

id Software has released a long-awaited update for the PC version of DOOM: The Dark Ages , adding support for path tracing. This technology, implemented with the support of NVIDIA DLSS 4, significantly improves the visual quality of the game, providing realistic lighting, shadows and reflections at the cost of half the performance.

The update, announced by NVIDIA, became available along with the GeForce 576.80 WHQL driver. For those playing Wuthering Waves, we will clarify that this driver does not solve the problem of game crashes, and therefore it is recommended to stay on 572.83 for this project.

Path tracing makes the hellish landscapes even more impressive, but it requires powerful hardware: RTX 50-series graphics cards are recommended, as even the top-end GPUs of previous generations can face low performance. For example, on the RTX 4090 at 1440p with path tracing enabled, the game delivers around 30 FPS without DLSS, and from the RTX 5090 you can expect a similar 30 FPS already at 4K.
