GOD OF WAR RAGNAROK

In God of War Ragnarok, it's not just the offensive that's crucial: Kratos will have to constantly alternate his brute force with effective evasive maneuvers, making use not only of dodges and somersaults, but also of his precious shields to parry, reflect and absorb enemy blows.

In the list of all the weapons in God of War Ragnarok, shields play a central role, as there are five different types of this precious defensive weapon, each with its own specific characteristics that will also affect the gameplay itself. Since there are so many, it could be initially complicated to understand which could be the right choice for our adventure, however there are two shields in particular that prove to be the best to equip.

The first is the Guardian shield, already seen in the previous God of War from 2018. It is in fact the most balanced of those available, with more effective parry timing than its counterparts which therefore makes it extremely valuable in most fights.

The second choice instead falls on the Stone Wall shield, which can be unlocked once you reach Sindri’s house. Its large size does not make it suitable for parries, however it guarantees a much more consistent defense to the enemy’s offensive, all without forgetting that it can absorb enemy hits and allow Kratos to release the accumulated energy by smashing the Stone Wall to the ground, further maximizing the damage inflicted on our attackers.

In any case, there is always the possibility of experimenting with the entire arsenal available during the game and depending on the circumstances to be faced, however Guardian and Stone Wall prove to be the most valuable allies in a defensive perspective.
