Since the expiration of the games for the 35th anniversary of Super Mario was announced , the community did nothing more than think that Nintendo would be preparing some type of change for the month of March, and it does not seem that they were very misguided.
The Japanese company is revamping its multiplayer server system to achieve a better gaming experience and greater stability, although not in the short term. They abandon the technology established in the days of Wii U and 3DS to advocate an entirely new one on Switch.
Nintendo servers get the change they needed
It has been on Twitter where the news has spread like wildfire. The current system, used by games like Splatoon 2 or Super Smash Bros. Ultimate , has the name NEX and its age is something to note. Without going any further, he is 18 years old and, in fact, in Splatoon 2 he has an unused function that would check if the software is running on Windows 98 . The new system is called NPLN and we have already seen a little about what it is capable of, since Monster Hunter Rise is the first to use it , and it has done so with its free demo .

However, these changes do not mean that online will improve drastically from one moment to the next . The intention is to gradually implement this new system in order to apply improvements and add new features more efficiently.
