The Star Wars fever is spreading faster than ever with the news of the new open world game that Ubisoft is developing , but while all that was happening, a new official patch was coming to Star Wars Empire at War, the great strategy game of the franchise that is still alive.
It's been 15 years since we got our hands on what was the spiritual successor to Star Wars: Rebellion . The strategy title developed by Petroglyph (a studio made up of former Command & Conquer developers ) was released in 2006 and received its only DLC in that same year.
Star Wars Empire at War recovers maps lost for over 15 years
Showcasing the purest strategy, the game put us in command of the Rebel Alliance, the Empire or the underworld, among which we had the bounty hunters, and our objective was clear: to conquer planets and take over the galaxy both in space battles as in the planets themselves, using vehicles and ground forces.
Over the years Petroglyph's support for this production became less and less frequent and its last patch dated from 2018, however at the beginning of 2021 we can say that a new update has arrived . The idea for this patch came from the title community itself, who asked the developers to take care of some corrections that they considered necessary.
In this way, deleted maps such as those of Utapau and Dathomir and five others that had been left aside in the Steam and GOG modernizations were added. If you want to see all the details of the update you can visit the game page and see the patch notes here .
