Many have already written off CyberMP, a multiplayer mod for Cyberpunk 2077. After its announcement in July 2024, the project went quiet, and fans assumed that development had been curtailed. However, the creators of the mod have refuted the rumors by releasing a new video with gameplay.
CyberMP will allow you to explore Night City with your friends and create your own servers with unique features. But this is not a cooperative mod for completing the campaign, but rather an analogue of GTA Online in the world of cyberpunk.
There is no exact release date yet. Considering that the Cyberpunk 2077 engine was not originally intended for multiplayer, we will most likely have to wait at least another year or two. It is no coincidence that CDPR is switching to Unreal Engine 5 for future games – REDengine is simply not designed for network play.
