The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered

Exploring the world has become more important than saving Cyrodiil from invasion for many players of The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered

Surprising statistics showed that only half of the players reached the point of closing at least one Oblivion Gate – a key element of the main storyline. At the same time, the introductory part of the game, where the hero escapes from prison, was completed by as many as 90.8% of players.

The freedom of choice that the game provides immediately after escaping from prison proves too tempting for players. Instead of following the path of saving the world and heading to the ruined city of Kvatch, many choose to explore the vast expanses of Cyrodiil and create their own stories.

Dissatisfaction with the Oblivion Gate mechanics among players has also led to some PC enthusiasts installing mods to remove them from the game, showing that even years after the original release, the community continues to find ways to tailor the game to their preferences.

Time will tell how these statistics change in the coming weeks and months. Perhaps some players will still decide to take on the main story, but it is already clear that the freedom to explore the world remains one of the main attractions of The Elder Scrolls series for many fans.
