Arrowhead's cooperative shooter Helldivers 2 continues to gain momentum. According to creative director Johan Pilestedt, the game's weekly audience is around 2.5 million people. A particular surge of interest followed the release of the Heart of Democracy update, which added significant changes to the project.
The latest update has brought a new threat to the game – an attack by the Illuminati faction on Super-Earth. Players now have to not only fight enemies, but also take into account the appearance of civilians, whose accidental death can disrupt the mission. In addition, the developers have introduced new types of weapons, enemy types and expanded customization options.
Since its release in February 2024, Helldivers 2 has sold over 15 million copies on PC and PlayStation 5, confirming its status as one of the most successful co-op projects of the year.
