The Last of Us Part 2

Nixxes Studio has released patch 1.2 for the PC version of The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered, adding a number of technical improvements and fixes to the game. The update affected performance, stability, and visual aspects.

One of the key improvements was the update of AMD FSR technology to version 3.1.1, which helped eliminate excessive image stuttering on Steam Deck when FSR Frame Generation was enabled. The developers also fixed the issue with NVIDIA DLSS Frame Generation - now activating this option in the launcher increases the frame rate by the same amount as when enabled through the in-game menu.

Significant improvements have been made to the game's stability. Nixxes has managed to eliminate crashes that occurred when loading wide-field cutscenes, as well as Direct3D Invalid Call errors that caused the application to crash.

Visual improvements have been made to various locations and effects. In the Capitol Hill area, shadows suddenly appearing on building walls and blood stains flickering on the floor have been fixed. An issue with dark lines appearing in volumetric fog when moving the camera on ultra-wide monitors has been fixed. Light refraction in the aquarium is no longer affected by high frame rates, making the effect less intrusive.

The gameplay has also received several important fixes. The developers have resolved an issue where players could not shoot immediately after reloading a checkpoint when using a mouse. A bug has been fixed that caused random shots to be fired after a silent kill if the [R] key was assigned to reload, quick throw, or interact.

The reward system now works correctly in No Return mode - players receive corresponding weapon skins for completing challenges. Fixed a bug due to which some usernames in the leaderboards were displayed as question marks.

Update 1.2 also includes a slew of localization, stability, and UI fixes. The patch notes can be found here .
