The developers of Sid Meier's Civilization 7 have released a major update 1.1.1, which is expected to prepare the technical basis for the global update 1.2.0, scheduled for April-May of this year.
An important innovation in this update is the fast movement system for units, which allows you to turn off the animation of movement and speed up the gameplay. It looks unusual: when you select a unit, special marks appear on neighboring cells, from which soldiers appear as if from a portal.
Improved game map generation by adding the "Standard" starting position. This option makes continents less predictable and increases the diversity of the landscape. The previously used starting method is now called "Balanced" and is the main one in multiplayer mode. The developers plan to create new large-scale maps and implement new types of resource generation, wonders of the world, climate biomes, and so on.
Sid Meier's Civilization 7 has received improvements to the user interface. Players now have more visible health indicators for units and settlements, tooltips about the number of specialists on tiles, notifications about attacks on settlements, and an indicator of the number of turns before crisis situations. The developers also allowed renaming settlements and commanders, and players can name cities after friends or themselves.
The developers have added a special "Restart" button that will be active until the first transition to another era. It allows you to restart the map with the selected game settings, civilization and leader. Players can also see available trade routes using a new lens and send traders to cities directly from a special panel.
