Sea of Thieves kicks off Season 15 this week , and the team has shared some of what players can expect, including new challenges, lighter on-screen text, pigs, and more.
Season 15 begins on February 20, but there's a new limited-time adventure already live in the game. It's a raid into a dark fortress where you'll face ghost fleets and ships full of phantoms. As you fight through waves of enemies, you'll earn two vaults of loot.
When the new season arrives, the team will be releasing new features throughout the season. There will be not one, but two new Megalodon species – the Feared Redmaw and the Barnacled Dread – each with what the developers call “devastating” abilities that you can unlock. Outpost shops will also feature new items, including new Lucky Hand musical instruments and some returning items from Season 8.
The Pirate Emporium will also feature new items, including the Sting Tide pistol, which is free for everyone. Premium items include a ship, a rococo costume and weapon, a set of culinary cadet emotes, and pet pigs. Pet pigs can be yours very soon.
The February 20 update will see the launch of a feature that aims to make on-screen text easier to read. This is another accessibility feature that Sea of Thieves is adding, and is also for those who want a little more control over their screen settings. You'll be able to customize the font size and color, as well as the background color and position of text on the screen.
