Four internal Electronic Arts studios are working on the new part of the team shooter Battlefield . Among them is Criterion Games, which previously developed the racing simulator Need for Speed Unbound , released in 2022.
So, if you're suddenly waiting for the next part of the NFS series or at least an update to Unbound, then we have some not-so-pleasant news for you: EA has frozen work on the racing franchise until the new "Battle" is released.
According to Vince Zampella, CEO of EA Studios (who oversees all the game studios), the team has received tremendous feedback from players and now knows exactly how to develop the series in the future. But it will take time.
