Recently, the popular game mod site Nexsusmod released a graphical update for Dark Souls III called DS3 Visual Overhaul, which takes the graphics to a whole new level.
The author of the mod is fromsoftserve, who is known to fans of the Souls series for his previous works improving the visuals of FromSoftware games.
The DS3 Visual Overhaul mod includes the following improvements:
- Changed reflection maps to fix overly metallic look.
- Ported improved SSAO from Armored Core 6.
- Improved spotlights by changing their incidence.
- Added dynamic shadows.
- Removed hero lighting for player and enemies.
- Removed local lighting in the environment.
- Game AA is disabled, TAA is done through repainting.
- Improved exposure using the automatic exposure system.
- Removing vignette.
- Disable color correction (more colorful).
- Setting up the use of lightmaps in normalmaps.
- Removes LOD pop-in and texture pop-in.
