Expected on February 11th on consoles and PC, Civilization 7 is already playable by players who have purchased the “Deluxe” or “Founders” editions. And it goes without saying that the first reviews are not glowing.
On Steam, the game has "average" ratings with 47% positive feedback out of the more than 5,500 published. This is due to numerous issues that the developers say they have addressed.
Indeed, Firaxis Games has identified three key areas to prioritize in terms of improvements. Starting with the ergonomics of the user interface which will be made more intuitive. The maps will also gain in readability and a better finish will be brought to several areas.
Next, features requested by the community will be designed. We are talking about being able to play cooperatively, to customize the names of cities and religions, to choose the starting and ending age or even a greater variety on the types of maps. All this will arrive through free updates.
Finally, a patch 1.1.0, which contains fixes, will be deployed in March. It will contain adjustments to the interface, diplomacy and crises, better general balancing as well as improvements for the AI. Additional bugs will also be smoothed out.
