In a recent interview, Japanese developers From Software shared a number of details about their upcoming co-op game Elden Ring Nightreign .
Some information concerns the team itself. Fans of the franchise may be interested in how much influence series creator Hidetaka Miyazaki had on Nightreign. He was involved in the work on Nightreign until the full concept was developed. From then on, it was up to designer Junya Ishizaki and his team. The world of Nightreign itself is part of the world of Elden Ring, but only in its own separate way. It was also revealed that George R.R. Martin did not create any new historical content for Nightreign.
As for the gameplay, there are 8 playable characters, each with their own abilities, style, and backstory, and one of them actually uses ash in combat, but its mechanics will work a little differently in Nightreign.
While the game is primarily designed for groups of three, you can play solo. There will be no two-player mode. Sessions are designed to last about 40 minutes, during which your team goes through “three-day” battles and worlds that constantly change each session. Loot, bosses, etc. change between sessions, but minor enemies do not respawn between “days.” The game model is described as a game-as-service, with subsequent support and development.
