Red Dead Redemption 2

A new tab called Online Migration has appeared on the Rockstar Games support site, giving grounds to talk about the preparation of a version of  Red Dead Redemption 2 for current-gen consoles. A similar section was previously used to migrate data to GTA Online when switching from PS4 and Xbox One to more modern systems.

Currently, RDR2 is available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S only via backward compatibility, without improvements such as 60 FPS, faster loading times, and higher resolutions. Despite constant requests from gamers and its status as one of the best-selling games in history, Rockstar has been in no hurry to release a full-fledged next-gen version.

According to experts, new activity on the site and a recent patch in Red Dead Online may indicate an upcoming announcement. The updated version will reveal the potential of RDR2 on new consoles and eliminate one of the main technical limitations - the game is still held back by a fixed frame rate of 30 frames per second.
