Witcher IV

At The Game Awards 2024, CD Projekt RED presented the first cinematic trailer for The Witcher IV . Interestingly, the developers used a yet-to-be-publicly-announced NVIDIA graphics card to create it probably the RTX 5090 model.

It is worth noting that the trailer was pre-rendered in a special version of Unreal Engine 5. As specified in the press release, the video does not demonstrate the actual gameplay or graphics of the game, although it was created using game assets and models. CD Projekt RED worked on the trailer together with the Platige Image studio.

The Witcher IV will be a new chapter in the series after the third part. This time, the main character will be Ciri, who will have to go through the path of becoming a professional monster hunter in the open world.

The approach to creating the trailer is reminiscent of the recent Gears of War: E-Day 2024 trailer, which was also pre-rendered using in-game assets. While the developers are trying to get the final graphics as close to the quality shown as possible, the trailer does not reflect how the game will look on release.
