Players always claim that we want to play new games, we like the usual ones, but when they launch a new IP, it is clear that everything has to go well for it to work with the public. We have the recent case of The Callisto Protocol , the first Striking Distance game , a great production with a big budget behind it, a good game and whoever tries it likes it, but it doesn't seem to reach the expected sales targets.
The sales forecasts for The Callisto Protocol should be around 5 million copies by the end of 2022 and it has stayed close to two million, what's more, it will not achieve these sales until well into 2023. It seems that the low marks on Metacritic have hurt upon release, a release that boasts a brutal investment of money from Krafton .
Sales of The Callisto Protocol have not been as expected
We hope that little by little the game will continue to spread among the public and improve its sales figures, those of us who have played it want to have a sequel, but this will depend at the end of the success of the first installment and for the moment everything remains in great uncertainty.
The Callisto Protocol was expected to sell 5 million copies but will likely only hit 2 million this year 😣
