In recent weeks, a new rumor has circulated on the web that 343 Industries had made the decision to change the graphics engine for Halo , consequently creating the new chapters of the series starring the taciturn and unstoppable Master Chief with another graphics engine. But according to new information that has popped up on the net in these hours, things are actually decidedly different, with the American development team intending to continue using the Slipspace Engine .
Jez Corden, insider and editor of Windows Central, shared a tweet made by a fan where it is possible to find out how Alex Corll of 343 Industries has revealed through his official LinkedIn profile that the development team, belonging to Xbox Game Studios, intends to continue to use its graphics engine also for the next chapters of the famous first-person shooter series.
This news does not surprise that much, because despite the rumors that have leaked on the net in recent weeks, it was rather difficult to imagine that 343 Industries could actually think of changing the graphics engine for the Halo series (with all that follows) despite the internal restructuring operated by Microsoft.
This is because by changing the graphics engine, switching to the excellent Unreal Engine, the American team would have had to start over from scratch the creation of many assets and technologies painstakingly created in recent years, which would have slowed down even more the development of the next chapter of the series and of post-launch content for Halo Infinite, with 343 Industries already facing a rather turbulent period given the departure of many members such as former boss Bonnie Ross.
