The second showcase of the 25th anniversary of Resident Evil has given us new content about everything that comes to us from the franchise this year. The party begins this year with the assured arrival of Resident Evil Village, the eighth installment of the franchise if we ignore all the spin-offs and alternative adventures. Next May 7 - in less than a month - we will be able to have it at home.
But the news today was not the launch date, but the presentation of the new mode "The Mercenaries", which finally comes back to the saga with everything we hope for. In this mode, which becomes totally arcade, although with many mysteries also to be solved, it will allow us to go from one phase to another while the difficulty increases. In each of them we can use the store to improve weapons or buy new ones.
Also new this time are Abilities, which you can acquire to give you various boosts, including increased guard strength, being able to do more damage with particular weapons, enhance your movement speed, and more. Check out the reveal trailer for Village's Mercenaries mode below for more details.
The Mercenaries mode will represent the most direct action of Resident Evil Village
But perhaps the most interesting are the Skills, which will allow us to access power-ups such as doing more damage, going faster or taking more hits. Undoubtedly, Resident Evil Village's Mercenaries mode is the rumored “more difficult and Rogue-like” mode that was recently claimed by insider Dusk Golem and confirmed by Gameinformer in an interview with Capcom developers. Here is the video with the gameplay of the Mercenaries mode.
