Xbox Live

Xbox Live will change its name as Microsoft has recently confirmed on its Twitter, the changes will be visible soon on the Xbox dashboard.

Xbox Live has been called this way since its inception 18 years ago and it is the first time that the service has been renamed. "The new Xbox Network will refer to Xbox's underlying online service , which was updated in the Microsoft Services Agreement," a Microsoft spokesperson says in a statement.

In which he added, "The service upgrade to 'Xbox Network' is intended to distinguish the underlying service from the Xbox Live Gold belongings that will retain its name."

The change aims to differentiate Xbox Network from Xbox Live Gold

Rumors about a possible name change date back to August last year when Microsoft updated its Service Agreement . At the time, Microsoft claimed that it had no plans to rename its service or shut down Xbox Live Gold. The last news we had related to Xbox Live was the withdrawal of having to pay for the service to play Free To Play titles such as Fortnite or Rocket League that could have influenced the name change.
