The West will be able to enjoy the full version of this new installment of the franchise, but the same will not happen in Asia, because Resident Evil 8 will be censored in Japan .
As we have seen in the latest contents of the game, Resident Evil 8 will not skimp on gore and violence. Both the setting and certain playable elements that have been leaked, are reminiscent of the Middle Ages of Romania, marked by torture and bloody historical and fictional characters. Capcom promises to make Resident Evil 8 one of its best titles, but unfortunately only the full version will reach the West, because the Japanese will have censorship in the images it shows.
The official statement from Capcom
“In Japan 'Resident Evil Village' (CEROD version) will be released for ages 17 and older and 'Resident Evil Village Z Version' (CEROZ version) for people over 18, but there is basically no difference in the game.
However, there will be some differences depending on the age classification system of each country, which will be the following in both the ZERO D and Z versions:
- There will be no beheadings.
- Less gory images.
- Scenes that the ZERO version rating prohibits will not be shown, even though they may be included in the ZERO version.
Fortunately, in the West we will be able to enjoy the uncensored versions of Resident Evil 8. There is very little left to know new details of the game and also more news of the saga, which will be part of the event dedicated to the 25th anniversary of Resident Evil .
