A new leak seems to indicate that the next installment of Assassin's Creed will return to its roots, and will center its story around the European medieval era. This is indicated by a Reddit user, who has rumored the possible expansions that will arrive for Assassin's Creed Valhalla.
The post originally came from 4chan , and was taken to Reddit afterwards. In this post, we can read exactly the following (translation of the original post):
- Wrath of the Druids, coming in March, follows Halfdan's return to Ireland and his death at the hands of the Irish Druids before Eivor aligns himself with the King of Dublin.
- Siege of Paris in early June before E3 or similar events.
- Eivor assists Rollo in the siege and allies with French nobles like Odo to depose Charles the Fat. This DLC is much longer and has story elements with Basim leading up to the next game to be revealed at E3.
- Assassin's Creed Champion (codename) will be announced during E3 or similar presentations, being a classic European fantasy version of the series set in medieval France and Germany, and launching in early 2022.
Among the comments of the users we see many assuring that the story that the next Assassin's Creed game could deal with would be based on the legend of King Arthur . Others comment on their disagreement with Ubisoft's Eurocentrism, and say they want a game set in ancient Asia.
A few weeks ago we were talking about the possibility of the next Assassin's Creed arriving in 2022 , and this rumor only adds fuel to the fire. However, this is exactly what it is, a rumor .
