A new chapter has been written in the story that sees Krafton pitted against the former executives of Unknown Worlds , the development studio behind Subnautica 2.
According to journalist Jason Schreier , the South Korean publisher has extended the terms of the production bonus planned for approximately 40 of the studio's employees. Krafton was supposed to pay $250 million to the now-former executives if the studio reached a certain revenue target by the end of 2025. A portion of that production bonus, exactly 10%, was supposed to go directly to the employees. However, with the postponement of Subnautica 2 to next year, reaching that target by the end of the year would have been lost.
According to rumors circulating in recent hours, Krafton has granted an additional year to Unknown Worlds , in order to allow the employees to reach the sales target and secure the production bonus.
In any case, the legal dispute between the publisher and the three former executives fired at the beginning of July appears to be continuing, however there is currently no further news on the lawsuit filed by the studio's co-founders.
