At State of Play, Team Ninja and Koei Tecmo announced Nioh 3 , a new installment in the popular soulslike series. The release is scheduled for early 2026 for PS5 and PC via Steam, with a demo available on PS5 until June 18.
The game is set in the Sengoku period, where the player controls a young warrior who aspires to become a shogun and fights against the yokai. The main innovation will be an open world with greater freedom of exploration and two combat styles: the traditional samurai style familiar from previous parts, and a new ninja style with an emphasis on stealth and quick strikes.
The trailer showed tough battles with demons and epic boss fights that retain the series' signature difficulty. The developers also promise a deep leveling system and loot inspired by the Diablo series.
