After announcing Battlefield 6 and revealing details about the upcoming community testing , EA has announced that the new game in the series will be released before March 31, 2026.
In its latest financial report, the company mentioned the launch of the Battlefield Labs initiative, which will allow players to test new mechanics before the game's release in fiscal year 2026. Given that EA's fiscal year runs from April 1, 2025 to March 31, 2026, that gives it a clear 12-month release window.
There's very little concrete information about the new Battlefield, which has yet to receive an official name. The game is in pre-alpha, and sign-ups for testing through Battlefield Labs will open soon.
Four studios are working on the game. DICE is working on the multiplayer and basic game systems. At the same time, Criterion, known for the Need for Speed and Burnout series, has completely switched to working on Battlefield and is helping with the return of the single-player campaign to the series.
