Marvel Rivals

It wasn't enough for Marvel to take over the movie world; the company is also making moves to dominate the gaming industry. And games like Spider-Man and Guardians of the Galaxy have pushed the company in the right direction.

It hasn't all been smooth sailing for Marvel: Square Enix's Avengers flopped. But the giant seems to have found salvation in NetEase's Marvel Rivals , which launched last month to a very positive response from gamers. And where there's success, there's money.

According to Chinese publication GameLook, the heroic action game's total revenue is nearly $136.4 million. Marvel Rivals earned a whopping $54.5 million on Steam alone, while PlayStation 5 also earned a total of $27.2 million. The rest came from the Xbox Series version.

It is estimated that if NetEase can maintain a steady player traffic and can consistently offer interesting content like Fantastic Four, Marvel Rivals could earn $1.36 billion in a year.
