Pokken Tournament is a fighting game developed by Bandai Namco. The license takes some elements from the Tekken fighting game series and uses characters from the Pokémon series as fighters.
It was originally released for Japanese arcades in July 2015, before being released worldwide for Wii U in March 2016 .An enhanced edition, called Pokken Tournament DX, was released for the Nintendo Switch in September 2017. Recently a major developer would be interested in doing a second part .
Will there be a sequel?
Pokken Tournament producer Katsuhiro Harada recently responded to a fan on Twitter about a possible sequel to the Pokémon fighting game. The fan asked if the game was "just once" and Harada gave his opinion on that.
Said a fan on Twitter asked Pokken Tournament producer Katsuhiro Harada if a sequel to the game could be in the works. Harada responded by saying that he "has a good relationship with Nintendo and The Pokemon Company, and would like to do a sequel . " Although he also replied that "the decision rests with Nintendo and The Pokémon Company as to whether to create a sequel or not . "
Let's remember that Pokken Tournament has a list of 23 different playable Pokémon, including favorites like Charizard, Lucario and the Blastoise. The game is a few years old, but you can find in stores both the Wii U version and the Nintendo Switch called Pokken Tournament DX with new creatures and game modes.
